KINGDOM COME – LUKE 17:20-37

Why are we so fond of disaster movies?

->What would you do?

“In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. “ (Daniel 7:13-14)

“Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation,  nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is within you.”   (Luke 17:20-21)

A Brief History of Time

What would you do?

-> If you haven’t already accepted Christ…

-> If you have already accept Christ…

A brief guide to “prospering during the end times”

1) Keep you relationship with Jesus on fire

“The time is coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man but you will not see it.”  (Luke 17:22)

The steady repetitive routine of Christian discipleship is like preventative ______________.

2) Stand firm where you are!

CHURCH comes from the Greek word EKKLESIA = ASSEMBLY / GATHERING

“Then he said to his disciples, “The time is coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.  Men will tell you, ‘There he is!’ or ‘Here he is!’ Do not go running off after them. “ (Luke 17:22-23)

3) Deal with your distractions

“Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. “ (Luke 17:26-27)

“On that day no one who is on the roof of his house, with his goods inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything. Lot’s wife! Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. “ (Luke 17:31-33)

This week—do something decisive about the distraction that makes you want to turn back when Jesus calls you on! Throw it away, break it off, whatever needs doing so you can fully hear Jesus.
