From the new year, there will be three parts to the 18-30s ministry: The Hub, Socials, and Community events.
The “Hub”s will be monthly (not including Easter, summer or Christmas holidays). The intention of Hub is to be an ADDITION to House Groups – not a replacement too. However, if you are not able to attend a house group, this might be a good way to get involved with the bible in a group setting. It’s a time to get together and be challenged on a deeper level about our own faith and walk with Christ.
This will include discussion over dinner for 18-30s, focussing on a different topic each month, revealed at least a week beforehand
Each standalone session will start with a cooked dinner* before discussion of a popular topic. All views welcome and respected.
Come for one, or them all – explore popular topics of religion and life with fellow 18-30s. Please share & invite anyone you think may be interested!
*Vegetarian option always available, other dietary requirements contact Emily Hewitt at least 24 hours in advance.
While you don’t have to be a Christian to attend, and we welcome everyone – whether you follow a different religion or none at all – the Hub is part of St James Church 18-30s ministry, and will always include a short prayer as well as the general opinion of the Anglican Church from leadership.
There will be one “Social” each month. The point of socials is to invite 20+30s into the church, so it’s a great time to invite new people to the 20+30s group! These socials will be at a variety of days and times to include as many people as possible throughout the year, and there will be different levels of cost. Some may be free, or the cost of travel, while some others may be £20+ for meals out and specific activities. If you are ever worried about the cost of a specific event, please do talk to me discreetly as there may be a way to help. If you would like to organise a social, please do let me know as I’d love for everyone to be able to do this if they want to!
There will be one “Community” event each month. The point of community events is to get us out into the community and being generous with our time to help others. Again, these events will be at a variety of days and times to include as many people as possible throughout the year. Some will be fundraisers, and some will require more organisation than others. If you would like to organise a community event, please do let me know as I’d love for everyone to be able to do this if they want to!
