THE HOLY SPIRIT: 4-STAR FUEL FOR LIFE

” Instead, be filled with the Spirit,” (Eph.5:18)

1) I AM A CHILD OF GOD

 “no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.” (Jn.3:5-6)

 “… For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption. And by Him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we’re God’s children. Now if we’re children, then we’re heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ….” (Romans 8:15-17)

 “The Spirit himself—that’s the Holy Spirit—testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.” (Romans 8:16)

2) I HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

Romans 8:26 says, “the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us.…”

Paul’s praying we would receive “the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that we might know God better…[and that]… the eyes of our hearts may be enlightened in order that we can understand—” (Ephesians 1:17-18)

3) I am becoming more and more like Jesus.

“we…are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:18)

 “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Gal.5:22-23)

“Rosi has given us so many moments of pure joy, and we are thankful for those times. We are sure that she is now safe in God the father’s arms. No one can ever hurt her again. It will be wonderful to see her again one day. We continue to pray for those who are responsible for Rosi’s death. We want them to know that we forgive them” (The Guardian 18 Nov 2009

 “We were all baptised by one Spirit into one body.” (1Cor.12:13),

 “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:2-3)

4) I am gifted.

“When they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.” (Matthew 10:19-20)

” There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. …  Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.” (1Corinthians 12:5,7)
