The Backstory

“the men of Sodom were wicked and were sinning greatly against the Lord.” (Gen.13:13)

Genesis 14 – Sodom conquered, Abraham to the rescue.

“I will accept nothing belonging to you, not even a thread or the thong of a sandal, so that you will never be able to say, ‘I made Abram rich.’” (Gen.14:23)

Sodom’s problems go deeper than just inhospitality.

“Do you have anyone else here—sons-in-law, sons or daughters, or anyone else in the city who belongs to you? Get them out of here, because we are going to destroy this place. The outcry to the Lord against its people is so great that he has sent us to destroy it.”” (Genesis 19:13)
