Stepping out

How do you treat visitors?

What can i expect to happen at a Sunday service?

What do I wear?

What else happens on a Sunday?

Can I meet the vicar?

What do you believe?

Stepping Out

The Bible pictures the church as a body, with each individual playing a valuable and unique part. So we love to encourage people to make use of the gifts God has given them - and in fact we’re counting on it!  For example,

If you love helping people then our welcome team is for you.
Know one end of a guitar from another? Then why not join our
band?

If you value children then help us with our children’s and youth work.

If you’re good with your hands, why not help with our facilities team.

Good with computers and audio technology? Then help with our tec.team.

The bottom line is, tell us what you love doing, and we’ll try to help you find your role in the St James’s family. For more information on opportunities to serve, please speak to Barry Unwin after a service.

At various points in the year we also offer short “Stepping Out” courses covering different topics: for example “how to answer hard questions?”; “learning to handle the bible better?”; iLEAD; and “entrepreneurs welcome here!”
